PLAY A ‘RAINBOW FRIENDS/TAMAGOTCHI’-STYLE GAME IN REAL LIFE
The game is a ‘Play In Real Life’ cross between the concepts of ‘living inside a Tamagotchi’ and ‘Rainbow Friends’
Tamagotchi: an electronic toy displaying a digital image of a creature, which has to be looked after and responded to by the ‘owner’ as if it were a pet
Rainbow Friends: A popular game currently running on Roblox, developed by Fragrant Games. The objective is that all players must navigate the on-line play space collecting objects (Scavenger Hunt) whilst avoiding colourful creatures that can catch them.
Rainbow Buddies: The most recent ‘Play In Real Life’ game release by the makers of Saboteurs. Kids 4 – 9 years old navigate the play space, which is a futuristic world inhabited by cute fluffy monsters (Plush Toys). Collectively the kids are in charge of looking after these fluffy monsters by undertaking the tasks of taking them to work/eat/sleep etc. Whilst navigating the Play In Real Life game space the kids will need to avoid being ‘caught/spotted’ by the robot lasers. If ‘spotted’, the kids need to run back to the start and obtain a new task.
Game attire: A ‘watch‘ that has Green or Red lights. Green means carry on with the task to look after the cute fluffy monster. Red means the kid has been spotted by the robot laser and the kid will need to run back to the start to get a new task. A numbered ‘bib‘ for scoring.
Fans of the hugely popular online game Rainbow Friends will revel in, an immersive, Play In Real Life game with many of the same concepts.
If you are looking for something for the kids to do or looking for birthday party ideas, this is definitely it. Get them off the iPads and have them all play with friends. There are no screens. Just physical activity.
Rainbow Buddies (Suitable 4 – 9 year olds)
Just like the on-line game, players will required to avoid being caught whilst collecting items.
The collectable items include: Plushie Fire Extinguishers, Blocks, Plushie Stars, Plushie Monsters plus some other surprise plushies.
No jump scares 😉 Just active fun.
What to expect after you book: Once booked in you will receive an email confirming date/time of your booking. You will receive a 10 minute induction on site prior to playing the game.
Toilets and kids: We are in a pop up location at The District Docklands. We strongly recommend that you take the kids to the toilet prior to arrival. If your kids need to go to the toilet during the game you will need to: (a) take the kids out of the game gear, (b) go down 2 escalators to the toilets and then (c) return and redress in game gear. This whole process will mean lost game time.
“Highly recommended for kids and parents. Our boys (5 and 7) had never played Rainbow Friends the videogame (I of course loved Tamagotchis) but have heard a lot about it from friends and played pretend versions in the schoolyard. They were so excited running around playing it for real in this cool ‘Space themed Carnival set’ these guys have created inside the shipping containers. The staff were enthusiastic and flexible. So glad I stumbled on it online. It was the highlight of our trip to Melbourne. Please come to Brisbane” Sarah
